I would suppose if there is a way to mount a grinder on a taper that could fit into the hobber's work spindle, and could be rotated to dress the fixed center, then a fixed center would obviously be the best practice. Of course, rotating the grinder without winding up its power cord must be dealt with.
Say folks, how do you grind a fixed center true to the machine work spindle axis?
Maximum stiffness of a center is desired, so you can't get stiffer than a fixed center.
