Just a thought: measuring over pins or balls requires the lightest pressure possible, preferrably with special non-contacting measuring equipment. A Zygo laser gage is a good instrument for making over pin measurements.
It is practically impossible to measure with mics without exerting pressure that yields less than actual size.
But then, you didn't say your measurements were coming out undersize. If error is oversize, maybe someone else knows this grinder and an adjustment that might be possible.
