I am under the understanding that if you compare J factors from one gear to the next, you can expect an increase in strength that is proportional to the change in J factor for the same application and material. Is my understanding correct?
For example: Gear A has a J factor of .25 while Gear B has a J factor of .5.
Is it true that in the same application and when made of the same materials, Gear B would have twice the strength of Gear A?
Thank you in advance for your responses.
