the customer we are contracted to manufacture worm and worm gears thru us a curve, the design called for a .275 dia.OD on the worm and the worm gear, thus I ordered a topping hob, I visited the customer and attempted to assemble the gears in the pocket and found the pocket to be .265 dia. the pockets cannot be made larger, can this hob generate a gear that will mesh with the worm when they are both brought to .263 dia. without having to re-configure the hob geometry?
