A client is having problems with .080 pitch timing pulleys. The belt is wearing out during testing.
The configuration of the part has no hub for a set screw. The set screw is in the groove section of the part. The set screw hole was centered with a center then drilled and tapped. I have noticed that 4 of the major catalog distributors do not put a set screw thru the grooves in this .080 pitch sized pulley, it is always into a hub. The distributors do offer the set screw thru the grooves in a .200 circular pitch pulley as it has much wider gooves.
I think the belt is wearing due to the set screw hole,
Any thoughts? (P.S. #6-32 set screw)
