The hobs I have have integral 5/8 shanks. The drive end is easy enough to figure out for holding. I'm not sure of the best way to hold the non-drive end. It's just a 5/8 shank with no internal thread (like the driven end) in the shank. It would have to be rigid radially and concentric to the support bearing.
