I cut plain NOT WAISTED worms using a 135 to rack form milling cutter. The cutter goes on the cutter spindle and is set at helix angle, the multistart is difficult, I do it by having a gear in the workpiece drive with a tooth count which is a multiple of the number of starts, after each pass, disengage the gear train and move the gear round by 1/15 turn and r engage to cut next pass.
For this I would do the job on a milling machine with the table geared to the dividing head.
