In another lifetime I was a factory service engineer for the company building the 7VH series.
Relative to Pfauter, Leibher and Kashifuji hobbers, the 7HD and 7VH were crudely made machines. Were only intended for rough hobbing automotive gears to be shave or roll finished. Lead screw and indexing worm are only thread milled without grinding. Tailstock must be aligned when repositioned. There is no support or new parts availability. Beyond that, are inexpensive, simple and reliable.
