Glad to hear you solved the riddle - That's the first machine with differential/feed adjustment I've heard about.

I was running out of reasons (read: excuses) and about to suggest there might be a transverse hob motion. For machines that have transverse, or infeed hob motion, an adjustment to differential ratio is required to compensate for the hob motion along its axis.

Machines and their designs can surprise us from time to time.

I still appreciate you finding my omission in the FAQ topic - we are all better for it.
